Meet Our Founder

Angela Wang, Founder
Hi! I’m Angela, the founder of Consumer Welfare Alliance. I'm a student at Georgetown University with a passion for behavioral economics. My academic work centers on consumer decision-making, an interest that first kindled during my gap year in Taiwan. Living between cultures made me notice how norms around financial modesty and social influence can change the way people spend and choose. That experience pulled my curiosity toward the micro-level forces that shape everyday decisions.

Now, I'm increasingly curious about a new force shaping financial decision-making: AI. It's the invisible engine behind personalized ads, recommendation feeds, and pricing strategies, and it can anticipate what we’ll want before we even realize it.

I believe financial education shouldn’t stop at interest rates and index funds. It should also teach how companies capture attention, frame choices, and employ AI to reshape decision-making at scale.
If you’re here, you’re part of the solution: a future where consumers aren’t “targets,” but informed decision-makers with agency.

Welcome to Consumer Welfare Alliance.
